Think hard out bout your warehouse / trade post / dock / workshop layouts. You will need several outer graineries to efficently keep the food flowing out of the inner ones.ħ. They will retrive the food from the inner graineries, thus opening them up for more food from farms. Set the outer graineries to "get" the types of food you want them to have. Inner graineries collect the food from farms and keep them cart pushers from circling around endlessly and wasting farm efficiency. Use multiple graineries to push your food out to out lying provinces. Look at some of them and pick one that works well for you.Ħ. There are many great examples of housing layouts in the posts on this site. Time after time this has proven to be a more successful tactic then just dumping stuff everywhere. Develop some sort of standard square housing layout with fountains in the middle. Build any critical walker services you need at the end of the dead end.ĥ. Also with long curvy deadends your walkers have to walk further to accomplish thier goals, thus reducing thier effectiveness. But in general if you have a huge series of dead ends, you will have poor walker circulation as that the walkers will just plain miss going down that road. I have even seen a tactic of enclosing your service buildings in a ring of housing, thus forcing walkers to service your buildings. You need to build a symmetric road system that allows walkers to circle your buildings. If you have, move them, and build more farms.Ĥ. If your having problems feeding your people you need to ensure you havent built houses, workshops, etc. This becomes most critical at the 10000+ population range, but it also applies greatly to maps with little or no farmland. Dont build anything but farms on farmland. so you might as well get the benifits of casa while your at it. Generally in order to reach your culture ratings your going to have to provide schools etc. Additionally tents drag down the desirability of a location, provide little or no revenue, and decrease your prosperity rating. Eventually your people will get fed up with living in tents and either leave or riot. For all of the reasons associated with using wells. This leads to high crime areas, high fire risk area, and you having 1/2 your population in the service of the local prefectures. Houses supplied with well water will not advace to casa's or any other houseing level and thus drag down your prosperty. Use wells as an absolute last resort to provide water. Wells are for peeing in, not drinking out of. Without further jockularity, here are the tips.ġ. They are not end all be all rules to live by, so those of you with a working strategy that contradicts these tips.
